The Riverview Compassion Team is made up of a group of amazingly talented and compassionate individuals that serve the Riverview community and its surrounding areas. They practice as Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Registered State Interns, and Professional Life Coaches. Our Team Core Beliefs are grounded in prioritizing God, Family, and Self-Care before service to ensure that our professionals are at their best emotionally and spiritually within their personal lives so that they can provide the highest quality of care for our clients. Our Riverview Compassion team engages in continued professional development throughout the year to stay up to date on effective intervention strategies for improving the mental health of our clients.

Mia has over a decade of counseling experience and brings to counseling a cross section of her experiences in Christian ministry, education and the business sectors. She is passionate about helping others heal through challenging situations in life that we all experience. Mia is a licensed mental health counselor serving individuals and families, a Christian Life Coach as well as an EMDR Trained provider. Additionally, she is a SYMBIS and Level 2 Gottman Certified Couples therapist helping couples restore and enrich their relationship. If you’re looking for help in successfully navigating through the difficulties you’re facing, she can provide the extra support you need and lend a helping hand.
As a counselor, she seeks to be a positive resource for you whom offers compassion and healing as you gain problem-solving skills that are grounded in a combination of Biblically based solutions and therapeutic strategies such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy and more to help you overcome your obstacles. Mia specializes in working with children, adolescents, emerging adults, and families who are struggling to manage academic, behavioral, and family issues. Mia's expertise extends to coaching individuals in the areas of life, grief, marriage and family, blended families, academics, and career goals.
Mia also serves as Community Liaison for Renewed Integrative Counseling and helps to bridge a connection between the varying practice locations and its community needs.

Danielle is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern who has a heart for serving adolescents, adults, couples and families in the community. Danielle tailors her counseling services to each individual need of her client and enjoys helping her clients’ succeed in meeting a wide variety of goals. Danielle’s expertise extends to issues including anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, ADHD, panic disorder, bipolar II, family and relationship conflict, grief/loss, codependency, career counseling, parenting, premarital and marriage counseling and Christian counseling. Danielle operates from a trauma-informed lens and takes an eclectic approach to counseling that includes utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Danielle sees clients aged 8 and older.
Danielle loves walking aside clients on their journey to better mental health, greater relationships and healthy coping skills that lead to long-term positive change and higher quality of life. By merging evidence-based modalities with faith-based principles, she helps clients learn how to be renewed and transformed even amidst their trials.
Danielle is a certified SYMBIS Pre-Marriage Assessment Facilitator and is trained in utilizing Gottman techniques for couples therapy.
Danielle also serves as Training and Compliance Lead for Renewed Integrative Counseling.

Sherly has 16+ years of counseling experience working with youth and families within the education system and the community providing a client-centered approach in counseling. She has also served in the supervisory role of Counseling Department Lead. Sherly is passionate about creating a therapeutic climate that is safe, supportive, and culturally inclusive. Through Sherly's clinical work, she has been able to help adolescents and adults navigate through and overcome symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, and strained family relationships. Sherly believes therapy is a collaborative process between herself and her clients. She strives to create a compassionate, welcoming, and authentic approach for clients to build awareness and achieve balance. Sherly empowers clients to accomplish their goals, while utilizing their strengths for change.
Sherly utilizes evidenced-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, along with Christian Counseling to help clients evolve into healthier and more fulfilled versions of themselves. Sherly additionally provides therapy services in Haitian Creole.

Breanna specializes in helping children and adolescents in a multitude of capacities. Her passion for helping others has resulted in 6+ years in the field, with experience working in elementary, middle, and high schools. She offers both individual counseling and psychological evaluation services to identify challenges that may be hindering success at home and school. Testing for gifted intelligence, learning disabilities, cognitive deficits, intellectual disabilities, social-emotional/behavioral disabilities, executive functioning deficits, and autism spectrum disorders are offered by Breanna.
In the therapeutic environment, Breanna utilizes a combination of approaches dependent on the needs of the client. These may include cognitive behavioral strategies, positive psychology foundations, and humanistic realization. Helping children and teens to identify their strengths and gifts is a vital link to promoting confidence, self-esteem, and independence. Breanna has experience helping children and teens experiencing anxiety, depression, life changes, history of trauma, obsessive compulsive disorders, grief, executive functioning stressors, anger, and more.

Tiona's experience ranges from supporting adolescents and their families, serving those that struggle with substance abuse, helping emerging adults navigate their career paths, and empowering individuals to manage their mental health through evidenced-based therapeutic techniques, life-coaching, and mentoring. Monica is a Licensed Registered Intern with 4+ years working in the mental health and behavioral health field as a behavior therapist & counselor. Monica’s specialty is creating a space where clients feel comfortable to express their emotions and to discover underlying traumas and issues. Monica is devoted and passionate about helping clients to overcome past traumas, couple’s disputes, and issues dealing with daily life. Monica has experience working with children, teens, and adults. She has helped clients with prenatal/postnatal support, parenting, relationship issues, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, developing communication skills, trauma, and co-dependency.

Faithe is a Supervised Student Intern expected to complete her Masters in Social Work by December 2023 at an accredited State University. Faithe’s passion for helping others serves as the foundation for her work with clients. She strives to create an environment that is a safe place for clients to be themselves. She sees the therapeutic process as a team effort in which she works with her clients to explore problems, set and achieve goals, heal from past traumas, develop coping mechanisms, and build upon their strengths. She has a heart for working with women and couples experiencing infertility, children, adolescents, as well as military members and their families. As a provider, Faithe recognizes the significant impact that mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression have on one’s ability to manage day-to-day responsibilities. Her goal is to help her clients develop skills and techniques that empower them to better cope with these challenges in order to reach their full potential.
Faithe understands that for many people, their faith serves as a source of strength during hard times and looks forward to helping clients grow and build their relationship with God. She looks to implement a variety of evidence-based techniques when helping her clients including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Christian Counseling.

She has been providing counseling related services to children and adults for over 5 years. Amanda is passionate about making her clients feel comfortable, safe, and supported. In her experience, she has helped children cope with anxiety, ADHD, and self-regulation. The focal point of her approach is Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
Amanda additionally works to integrative faith and biblical practices for clients seeking Christian Counseling services. She is passionate and motivated in helping individuals find internal healing, peace, and to become the best versions of themselves.

Marta Rodriguez Rivera, MSW

Marta has served in the field of mental health for 20 years in a variety of settings ranging from community agency work to private clinical and in-home therapy, to school-based services. Her primary role has been in serving children, youth, and families through counseling, crisis intervention, case-management, educational advocacy, and mental health training & leadership. Marta has a passion for helping individuals and families to reach mental health wellness through the work of trauma healing, cognitive reframing, healthy emotional regulation, and effective communication. She utilizes therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Christian Counseling.
Marta is highly skills in working with clients who have experienced crisis, trauma, struggle with intense anxiety and depression, and/or grief/loss. Her skills extend to training schools, churches, organizations and businesses on Youth Mental Health First Aid, Suicide Awareness, and Crisis Management, as well as mentoring clinical student interns.

Lucero is a Licensed Registered Intern with 5 years of experience working with children, adolescents and families. Lucero has supported individuals experiencing a range of difficulties, including mood disorders such as anxiety and depression, as well as social issues and behavioral concerns. She is also proactive about teaching on how to use social and emotional learning, incorporating positive coping skills to help manage a range of emotions such as anger, grief and depression. Lucero utilizes therapeutic modalities and interventions including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, mindfulness interventions, and Christian Counseling.
Her expertise extends to coaching individuals in the areas of post-graduate education, college readiness, resume-building, scholarship application process and tuition assistance. Being a military veteran herself, Lucero is also passionate about helping veterans’ transition from active-duty life and also assisting them with accessing their veteran education benefits.

Jamila is a dedicated and compassion Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern who incorporates over 8 years of counseling experience supporting children, adolescents, couples, and families in navigating through life challenges. She has a Masters Degree in Counseling and General Family Therapy. Drawing from her diverse array of educational, career and life experience, Jamila uses a blend of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, Solution-focused and mind-body methods to support individuals under the umbrella of a family-systems based approach. She has outpatient, in-home, school-based, and faith-based counseling experience, with expertise treating anxiety, mood and eating disorders, depression, PTSD, ADHD, trauma, grief, social, marriage and relational issues, personal-social, and career explorations and transitions.
Jamila’s goal is to assist children, adolescents, and adults to reach their highest potential and to help couples and families live more harmonious and joyful lives together. Jamila is a trained Art of Marriage facilitator through Family Life where she has facilitated Art of Marriage small groups.
