Renewed's Statement
Of Faith.
a transformative and life-changing impact on each person’s life, addressing both their victories and their hardships. Though we operate from a Christian perspective, Renewed Integrative Counseling welcomes clients from all faith backgrounds, including those with no faith affiliation at all, and we intentionally engage with each person according to their expressed preferences and interests.
Therapists who work at Renewed, and integrate Chrisitian Faith within their services, believe the following:
-
The Bible is the word of God, a collection of divinely inspired writings that have been preserved for each generation, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and the only authoritative and infallible rule of Christian faith and practice. "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17
-
God co-exists in three persons- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as one. "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20
-
The only true basis of Christian fellowship is Christ's (agape) love, which is greater than differences one may possess, and without which we have no right to claim ourselves Christians. "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
-
Salvation is by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again, providing eternal redemption to those who believe. It is not by our works or works of the law. "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
-
God is close to those who are suffering. God provides comfort to the suffering and meets the needs of the brokenhearted. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm. 34:18
-
God is good, He loves, and does not forsake His people. We ought to pray with those who are struggling within the body of Christ, treat them as fellow image-bearers, encourage them, be available, walk with them, shouldering one another's burdens in order to fulfill the law of Christ. Only then will we love as Christ loved and care well for those who are hurting. “Carry each other's burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
Renewed Integrative Counseling, as a Christian-based mental health practice, affirms the core beliefs of Christianity as they are referenced in the Holy Bible. We believe that these truths can have

Our earthly lives are limited, our bodies may fail us, including our mental health.
Throughout biblical scriptures, we witness people struggling with mental health challenges as evidenced by their experience with deep feelings of despair, anger, anxiety, guilt, depression, grief, loneliness, suicidal ideation, and much more. While some of these things can be attributed to spiritual warfare, they can also be of a physical nature. Our bodies can be prone to going awry at times, and people can experience ailments related to chemical imbalances, neurological issues, and psychological factors. Treatments, to include mental health counseling, taking medication, using holistic forms of medicine, and/or nutritional & healthy lifestyle training amid mental health challenges doesn’t show a lack of faith in God’s ability to sustain us through the suffering; rather, it may allow us to experience God with more clarity. Jesus gives an example of how we should care for one’s physical needs in the parable of the Good Samaritan. When the Samaritan comes across the badly injured man on the side of the road, he takes him to be bandaged and cared for until he recovers (Luke 10:34). In the same way, we, as mental health providers, work to serve those who are emotionally injured and need care.
Renewed Integrative Counseling’s team of professionals acknowledges the complexities of humans as physical and spiritual beings. The ultimate goal of integrating Christian faith in counseling is to help people move towards personal wholeness, interpersonal competence, mental stability, and spiritual maturity.
